Compatible drum unit pack

The GREENCYCLE DR221CL pack contains ten compatible drum units covering four colours for Brother laser printers. It is suited to offices, schools, banks and households that run high print volumes and want to lower the cost per page.

Print volume and running cost

Each drum unit is rated for approximately 15000 pages at five percent coverage on A4 or Letter paper. The supplier states the compatible units can reduce printing costs by around 80 percent compared with original equipment cartridges.

Included accessories and fit

The box ships with an installation guide and uses multi-layer sealed bags plus anti-seismic bubble wrap for protection. The units are built to match OEM compatibility for the listed HL, MFC and DCP series printers. Buyers who need toner powder refills or waste-toner containers will not find them in this pack.

Questions about this item

How do I install the DR221CL drum unit and which step causes the most errors?

Open the printer front cover, pull out the old drum-and-toner assembly, press the green lock lever to release the toner, slide the new DR221CL drum in until it clicks, then reinstall the combined unit. The step most often missed is pressing the green lock lever fully before removing the toner cartridge.

What maintenance or replacement will the DR221CL drum unit need after extended use?

Each DR221CL drum is rated for about 15000 pages at 5 % coverage. After that yield the drum surface wears and print quality drops, so the whole drum unit must be replaced; no separate cleaning kit or roller swap is specified.

What limit appears first when the DR221CL drum unit runs continuously at high volume?

The 15000-page rated life at 5 % coverage is the first hard limit; once that page count is reached the drum coating degrades and the printer will prompt for a new drum unit.
