Eight-pack drum kit

The GREENCYCLE DR221CL kit supplies eight compatible drum units in black, cyan, magenta and yellow for Brother HL, MFC and DCP colour laser printers. It is aimed at offices, schools, banks and households that print high volumes and want to lower per-page cost.

Steady throughput

Each drum unit is rated for 15000 pages at five percent coverage, so the pack supports long print runs without frequent swaps. The yield estimate is based on standard A4 or Letter pages and actual output will vary with paper type, humidity and job complexity.

Low heat and quiet

Laser drum units generate minimal heat and operate silently inside the printer during normal use. Power draw is handled by the host printer, so no extra supply or cooling is required beyond the printer’s own specifications.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the DR221CL drum unit add when the printer runs all day?

The drum unit is a passive component with no moving parts of its own, so it adds no measurable heat or noise beyond what the Brother HL-3140CW, HL-3170CDW or MFC-9330CDW already produce.

What must I already own for these eight DR221CL drums to work?

You need a compatible Brother laser printer — HL-3140CW, HL-3150CW, HL-3170CDW, HL-3180CDW, MFC-9130CW, MFC-9330CDW, MFC-9340CDW or DCP-9020CDN — and separate toner cartridges, because the drums do not contain toner.

Will the DR221CL drums work reliably in an older HL-3140CW that has printed thousands of pages?

Yes. The drums are built to the same specifications as the original Brother DR-221 units, so they install and operate identically in every listed model regardless of the printer’s age.
