Compatible Drum Unit for Brother Colour Printers

The GREENCYCLE DR229CL drum unit replaces the Brother original in HL-L3220CDW, HL-L3280CDW, HL-L3295CDW, HL-L3300CDW, HL-L8245CDW, MFC-L3720CDW, MFC-L3765CDW, MFC-L3780CDW and MFC-L8395CDW laser printers. It supports black, cyan, magenta and yellow channels for full-colour output. The unit is sold new and delivers up to 30000 pages at .05 coverage. Toner cartridges are not included and must be supplied separately.

Fits Standard Drum Slots Without Modification

Installation follows the normal Brother procedure: remove the orange protective cover, insert each toner cartridge into the drum, then seat the combined assembly into the printer until it clicks. No firmware updates or hardware adapters are required. The compatible design frees the buyer from sourcing OEM drum units while keeping the existing printer workflow unchanged. A user manual is included in the single-pack box.

Consistent Output Across the Rated Life

The drum maintains uniform charge acceptance and cleaning efficiency from the first page to the 30000-page rating. Print density, colour balance and background suppression remain stable during long print runs, reducing the need for mid-job interventions. The component is built for continuous operation in office environments where daily volumes approach the rated yield. Users who need higher page counts or integrated toner-drum modules should consider other product lines.

Questions about this item

How many pages will the DR229CL drum unit last before print quality drops under continuous colour printing?

The drum is rated for up to 30000 pages at .05 coverage per colour channel before replacement is needed.

Does the DR229CL drum generate noticeable heat or fan noise during all-day print runs?

The drum unit itself has no moving parts or fan; any heat or noise comes from the printer engine, not this component.

Which toner cartridges must already be installed for the DR229CL drum to function in an HL-L3220CDW?

Separate Brother TN229 or compatible toner cartridges in black, cyan, magenta and yellow must be inserted into the drum before use.
