Thermal and power behaviour in normal use

As passive laser consumables the toner and drum add no fans, draw no power and generate no audible noise of their own; operating temperature and acoustic output are determined entirely by the host printer. The toner cartridge requires a brief horizontal shake before installation to distribute the powder evenly.

Questions about this item

Does the box contain both the TN580 toner and DR520 drum, or must the drum be bought separately?

The pack includes one TN580 black toner cartridge and one DR520 black drum unit ready to install together.

Should I choose the standard-yield or high-yield version of the TN580 for my HL-5370DW?

This combo supplies the high-yield TN580 rated for up to 8,000 pages at 5% coverage.

What does the 8,000-page figure mean when I print dense reports on my MFC-8890DW?

It is based on 5% coverage of Letter paper; heavier graphics or smaller fonts will reduce the actual page count.
