Stainless-steel hydraulic punch sleeve punches clean holes up to 10 ga mild steel and fits Greenlee 745 punch units and 7308 punch kits
The Greenlee 1557SS is a stainless-steel sleeve designed to cut clean, accurate holes in material up to 10 gauge mild steel. It measures 1/8" x 2.65" in exterior diameter and is built for use with hydraulic punch drivers. The tool targets electricians, maintenance crews and metal fabricators who need repeatable hole quality in the field or shop.
This sleeve fits Greenlee model 745 punch units and model 7308 punch kit units, so buyers already owning that hardware can add the 1557SS directly. It will not work with punch systems from other brands or with Greenlee units outside the listed models. Users needing a different hole size or a non-hydraulic method should look at other tooling.
The single specification that decides fit is the 10 gauge mild-steel rating; material thicker than that exceeds the sleeve's design limit. If the job requires punching heavier plate, a larger-capacity sleeve or a different punching system is required. No other specification overrides this capacity constraint.

The sleeve is compatible with Greenlee Mfg No 745 Punch Units and 7308 Punch Kit units, so it mounts directly on those hydraulic drivers.
Slide the sleeve over the punch body until it seats against the die holder, then tighten the set screw; the step people miss is confirming the sleeve sits flush before locking it down.
Replace the sleeve when the 1/8" x 2.65" exterior shows visible wear, deformation or corrosion that prevents clean 10 ga. mild steel punching.
