140 W desoldering pencil for the FR-410 station, 24 V operation, 620–850 °F range, ESD-safe with quick-change nozzle
This Hakko FR4104-81 soldering pencil delivers 140 W of corded electric power for desoldering tasks. It operates on a 24 V supply and connects to the FR-410 station via a plug-type handpiece connection. The tool length is 8.1 in and the cord extends 4 ft for bench flexibility.
The handpiece features a more efficient nozzle quick-change capability that speeds tip swaps during rework. A standard nozzle is supplied in the package, while the tip count is zero so additional tips must be sourced separately. No other accessories or software are bundled with this unit.
The pencil operates between 620 °F minimum and 850 °F maximum, a range set by the FR-410 station controller. It cannot function as a standalone iron because it requires the station for power regulation and temperature control. Buyers without a compatible FR-410 station cannot use this handpiece.

The pencil includes a standard nozzle; replacement frequency depends on usage intensity and solder type, but the quick-change design allows tool-free swaps when the nozzle wears or clogs.
The 140 W heater reaches 850 °F maximum; sustained use at that temperature is limited by the station's thermal management and the 4 ft cord's heat dissipation rather than the pencil itself.
At 140 W the tip runs between 620 °F and 850 °F, so the handpiece gets warm during extended sessions; the unit has no fan, so noise is limited to the station's pump.
