Digital temperature kettle for tea drinkers

The Hamilton Beach 40851 is a 1.7-litre electric kettle with a double-wall stainless steel interior. It targets anyone who wants precise water temperatures for green, white or oolong tea, French press coffee or instant meals. Five presets and a large digital display remove the guesswork from heating. Automatic shut-off and boil-dry protection add peace of mind during busy mornings.

Presets cover common hot drinks only

The five built-in settings are fixed at green tea, white tea, oolong tea, French press and black tea or boil. You cannot programme a custom temperature outside those options. The 1500-watt element heats a full load quickly, yet the kettle holds only 1.7 litres per cycle. Double-wall construction keeps water warm twice as long as the reference model 41020 after the unit powers off.

Check voltage and bench space before ordering

The appliance runs on standard household current and draws 1500 watts, so verify your outlet can support that load. Its footprint measures 10.55 inches high by 8.46 inches wide and weighs 2.4 pounds when empty. Ensure the cordless base fits your worktop and that you have clearance for the lid to open fully. The stainless interior is BPA-free and includes a MAX fill line for easy filling.
