Ready-to-shoot compact camera

The Hamilton Buhl CAM17SV is an 18 megapixel point-and-shoot camera built for everyday photography. It combines an 8x optical zoom lens with a 2.7 inch TFT-LCD screen for framing and playback. The package includes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, an 8 GB SD card, USB cable with wall adapter, wrist strap and pouch. Buyers who need interchangeable lenses or full manual exposure control will not find those features here.

Simple setup with included accessories

Charge the supplied battery, insert the provided 8 GB SD card and the camera is ready to capture stills or video. Auto-focus, auto-flash, scene modes, red-eye reduction and digital image stabilisation handle most shooting situations automatically. A self-timer and continuous-shot mode are also built in. The only common issue is forgetting to keep the battery topped up between outings.

Fixed storage and resolution limits

Images are saved as JPG files at selectable resolutions from VGA up to 18M; video records in AVI at 1080p, 720p or VGA. The 8 GB card capacity is finite, so extended trips or high-resolution bursts will require additional SD cards. No wireless transfer or raw capture is supported, so files must be moved via the USB cable or a card reader.
