Mid-Sized TRRS Headset with In-Line Microphone

The Hamilton Buhl FV-GRY Favoritz is a mid-sized, over-ear headset designed for students and general users who need a single 3.5mm TRRS connection for both audio and microphone on tablets, computers or mobile devices. It ships new with a heavy-duty, write-on, moisture-resistant storage bag.

3.5mm TRRS Plug Limits Compatibility

The 3.5mm TRRS stereo plug with a 120° angle and thin barrel combines audio and microphone on one connector, so it only works with devices that accept a TRRS jack; older equipment that requires separate headphone and microphone plugs will not be compatible. The 5-foot Dura-Cord is chew-resistant, PVC-jacketed and braided nylon for durability.

Upgrades from Basic Earbuds or Dual-Plug Headsets

This headset replaces basic earbuds or older dual-plug headsets when a single TRRS connection, adjustable headband, replaceable leatherette cushions and an in-line microphone are needed for long sessions. The jump is worth it for users who want a durable, chew-resistant cord and a compact bag that helps prevent the spread of lice.

Questions about this item

Should I pick this headset if I need a 3.5 mm TRRS plug for a tablet?

Yes — the 3.5 mm TRRS stereo plug with a 120° angle and thin barrel fits tablets, phones and laptops that accept a single combined audio-and-mic connector.

How loud will the 100 dB sensitivity sound on a phone?

At 100 dB ±4 dB the drivers reach classroom volume from a phone or tablet without needing an external amplifier.

Does the 3.5 mm TRRS connection limit microphone quality?

The in-line mic runs at 2,200 O impedance with a 50 Hz–16 KHz response and –42 dB ±3 dB sensitivity, so voice pickup stays clear within the TRRS bandwidth.
