Personal headphones for young learners

The HamiltonBuhl SchoolMate headphone is built for children aged three to seven and fits over the ear with replaceable leatherette cushions. A 3.5 mm stereo plug connects to MP3 players, tablets, Chromebooks, computers and other classroom devices. The 32 ohm impedance and 100 dB sensitivity deliver clear audio at safe volumes.

Patented ASM technology and chew‑resistant cord

Automatic stereo‑mono switching removes the need for manual controls so younger users can operate the headphone independently. The six‑foot braided nylon cord resists chewing and tangling during daily use. A heavy‑duty write‑on re‑closable bag is included for storage and labelling.

Lightweight over‑the‑head frame

At 0.15 lbs the headphone stays comfortable during extended lessons and the adjustable headband accommodates growing heads. The 3.5 mm connector works with 0.12" and 0.25" stereo or mono jacks found on a wide range of audio sources. 40 mm drivers provide consistent sound across supported devices.

Questions about this item

When will the leatherette ear cushions need replacing?

The cushions are designed to be replaceable; swap them when the leatherette shows cracking or loses its seal around the ear.

What limits the 40 mm drivers during long listening sessions?

The 32 ohm impedance and 100 dB sensitivity mean the drivers reach full output from a 3.5 mm source, so volume headroom is the first practical limit.

How warm do the headphones get after hours of classroom use?

Passive over-the-ear design with no electronics inside keeps heat buildup minimal; only ambient warmth from the ears is felt.
