Network console cable for engineers

The HANNORD USB to RJ45 console cable links a laptop or PC USB port directly to the console port of Cisco, Juniper, HP, Arista, Aruba, Huawei and other network devices. It replaces legacy DB-9 or DB-25 serial adapters so engineers can configure routers, switches and firewalls without extra dongles. The 10 ft length gives reach across a rack or bench.

USB 2.0 plug-and-play with FTDI chip

The cable uses an FT232RL chip for driver stability on 32-bit and 64-bit Windows, Mac and Linux systems; Chrome OS is not supported. Most modern operating systems install the driver automatically, otherwise it is available from the FTDI website. The USB 2.0 interface is backward compatible with USB 1.1 hosts, and no external power is required.

RS-232 signalling up to 500 kbaud

The RJ45 connector follows the Cisco DTE pinout with RTS, DTR, TXD, dual GND, RXD, DSR and CTS on pins 1 through 8. Maximum RS-232 signalling rate is 500 kbaud, suitable for standard console sessions. The copper conductors and moulded strain relief maintain signal integrity during extended debugging sessions without data loss.
