A USB 3.0 switch lets two computers share four peripherals at up to 5 Gb/s with push-button switching
This KVM switch lets two computers share four USB 3.0 peripherals such as printers, drives, keyboards or mice. A single push button on the unit swaps control between the connected PCs instantly. The compact 118x56x16mm enclosure sits neatly on a desk without crowding other equipment.
The switch passes data at up to 5Gb/s, the maximum rate defined by the USB 3.0 standard. Actual throughput will fall below that ceiling when multiple high-speed devices are active simultaneously or when cable quality degrades the signal. The included 1.5m cables are rated for USB 3.0 operation.
Only four USB devices can be connected at once; a fifth peripheral cannot be accommodated without an additional hub. The package supplies two USB 3.0 male-to-male cables and one USB 2.0 male-to-micro-USB cable for the initial setup.

This unit gives you four USB 3.0 ports shared between two computers, so choose it when you need to switch exactly four peripherals such as keyboard, mouse, printer and a U-disk.
The 5Gb/s rating is the USB 3.0 signalling ceiling; real-world throughput will be lower and depends on the drive, cable quality and the host controller in each computer.
The switch uses USB 3.0 with 5Gb/s signalling, capping connected devices to that bandwidth and to the 1.5m cable length supplied.
