Rock Band Rivals Expansion for Xbox One

The Rock Band Rivals Expansion is downloadable content that adds new modes and over 35 free songs to Rock Band 4 on Xbox One. It requires the base game and an Xbox Live account to access online features. The digital code delivers the expansion directly to the console without physical media. This product suits players who want competitive crew battles and a story-driven campaign.

Online Quickplay and Rivals mode sustained play

Online Quickplay matches players in public or private sessions with tools to maximise downloadable-song overlap during extended sessions. Rivals mode runs seasonal crew competitions where combined scores determine leaderboard position over weeks rather than single songs. Rockudrama campaign progress saves automatically across multiple play sessions. The expansion unlocks access to future updates and songs reserved for Rivals owners.

Digital code redemption and controller compatibility

Redeem the supplied code on the Xbox Store to attach the licence to an Xbox account, then install the expansion from the Rock Band 4 manage-game menu. Supported USB microphones work immediately for vocals, while compatible guitar and drum controllers function without extra setup. The download requires sufficient internal or external storage space on the console. Buyers without Rock Band 4 or an Xbox One cannot use this content.

Questions about this item

Does the Rivals Expansion require a constant internet connection that could increase console heat during long sessions?

Online Quickplay, Rivals mode and Crews all need an Xbox Live connection, so the console will stay online and draw its normal operating power for as long as you play.

What do I already need to own before this expansion will work?

You must have Rock Band 4 installed on the same Xbox One account, plus at least one compatible instrument or USB microphone to play.

Will my existing Rock Band 4 guitar and drum controllers work with the new Rivals modes?

Yes — the expansion supports the same wide variety of compatible guitar and drum controllers you already use with Rock Band 4.
