Half-Inch PVC Y Strainer

This half-inch PVC Y strainer is designed for water filtration in residential and light-commercial plumbing. The unit handles a maximum pressure of 150 psi and includes a 20-mesh PVC screen. It suits installers who need a compact inline filter with threaded NPT connections.

Check Threads and Pressure Rating

Verify that your piping uses half-inch NPT threads to match the three ports on this strainer. Confirm the system operating pressure does not exceed 125 psi at 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Ensure the 20-mesh screen provides the filtration level your application requires.

For Simple Inline Filtration

This strainer suits plumbers and pool technicians who need a compact, corrosion-resistant filter for half-inch lines. It is not for systems that demand finer mesh, higher pressure ratings, or larger port sizes. Builders needing automatic back-flushing or different connection types should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the Hayward YS10050T come with the 20 mesh screen already installed or must I purchase it separately?

The strainer includes the 20 mesh PVC screen in the box; no separate screen purchase is required.

When should I choose the 1/2 in NPT threaded version over other port sizes?

Select this model when your plumbing uses 1/2 inch NPT threads on all three ports for a direct fit.

How does the 4 gpm Cv flow factor affect performance in my pool system?

The 4 gpm Cv rating indicates the flow capacity through the strainer at a 1 psi pressure drop, helping you size the pump correctly.
