1/2" CPVC Y Strainer for Pool Filtration

This Hayward YS20050T strainer installs in 1/2 inch threaded pipework and uses a CPVC housing with an FPM gasket. The 1/32 inch mesh screen provides 4.19 square inches of open area to trap debris before it reaches pumps or heaters. It is rated for 150 psi maximum working pressure.

Pressure and Mesh Limits

The 150 psi rating defines the upper pressure boundary; systems that exceed this pressure need a different strainer. The fixed 1/32 inch mesh cannot be changed to a finer or coarser screen without replacing the unit. Buyers who need higher pressure tolerance or a different mesh size must select another model.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 1/2 in threaded version or look for a different pipe size?

This model has a 1/2 in threaded connection; select it when your plumbing uses 1/2 in NPT threads.

What does the 150 psi rating mean once the strainer is installed in my system?

It is the maximum working pressure the CPVC housing and FPM gasket can handle continuously at ambient temperature.
