Hayward TriStar VS 2.7 HP Pump

The Hayward TriStar VS is a variable-speed pool pump with a 2.7 max hp motor running on 230V power. It uses a permanent magnet, totally enclosed fan-cooled design for efficient and reliable operation. The unit includes an integrated programmable digital interface with a 24-hour clock for simple scheduling. It is built to replace most high-performance pumps up to 1.5 full-rate or 2.0 max-rate HP.

Ideal for energy savings, not low voltage

This pump suits pool owners who want up to 90% energy savings and potential utility rebates. The no-rib, extra-large basket reduces cleaning frequency by easing debris removal. It is not for installations that cannot supply 230V or that require a lower horsepower rating than 2.7 max hp. Buyers needing a different voltage or form factor should look elsewhere.

2.7 max hp at 230V decides fit

The single specification that determines compatibility is the 2.7 max hp motor requiring a 230V electrical supply. Verify that your existing plumbing and electrical service match this rating before purchase. The pump is designed to replace units up to 1.5 full-rate or 2.0 max-rate HP. Confirm voltage and horsepower needs to ensure correct fit.

Questions about this item

What electrical supply does the 2.7 HP TriStar VS pump require?

The pump runs on a 230V supply, so a dedicated 230V circuit must already be in place at the equipment pad.

Can this pump replace my existing 1.5 full-rate or 2.0 max-rate HP pump?

Yes, it is designed to replace most full-rate high-performance pumps up to 1.5 full-rate or 2.0 max-rate HP using the same plumbing connections.

How do I verify the pump is running efficiently after installation?

Use the integrated programmable digital interface to confirm the selected speed and 24-hour schedule are active, and check that the permanent magnet motor operates quietly.
