Eight-port HDMI switch for 1080p displays

The HDSUNWSTD 8-port switch routes eight mixed-format video sources to a single HDMI output at up to 1080p60. It accepts three HDMI inputs plus VGA, component, composite and analogue audio connections. The unit automatically up-scales 480i and 576i signals to progressive formats on component and AV inputs. A bundled IR remote and sensor cable allow source selection from a distance.

Installers needing multi-format aggregation to one

This switch suits AV integrators, conference rooms and digital-signage setups that must combine legacy and modern sources on a single display or capture device. Buyers who require 4K or higher output resolution should look elsewhere. Users without a free DC 5 V outlet will need a separate power solution because the included adapter uses a US-style plug.

Maximum output locked to 1080p60

The single specification that decides suitability is the 1080p60 ceiling on the HDMI output. All inputs are scaled or converted to this resolution and refresh rate regardless of native capability. If the target display or recorder demands 4K, HDR or refresh rates above 60 Hz, this unit cannot meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

Will the remote control need a battery replacement and what type does it take?

The remote uses one CR2025 coin cell which is not included; replace it when the range drops.

Which input limits the maximum resolution when several sources are connected?

VGA caps at 1920 x 1200@60 while HDMI and component stop at 1080p@60 so VGA is the first ceiling.

How warm does the unit get and does it draw much power when left on 24/7?

It runs from a 5 V DC adapter rated 100-240 V so heat and draw stay low during continuous operation.
