Thin-wall heat-shrink conduit

HellermannTyton 309-60306 is a 25 ft mini reel of black PO-X tubing with a 2:1 shrink ratio and 12.7 mm supplied diameter. It is intended for technicians who need continuous insulation and abrasion protection on wire bundles up to 1/2 inch.

Sustained thermal and chemical resistance

The cross-linked polyolefin wall withstands continuous exposure from -55 °C to +135 °C and meets UL 224 VW-1 flammability requirements. It resists common oils, chemicals and fluids without embrittlement during long service.

Flexible reel format for daily use

Thin 0.024 in wall keeps bundles compact while the mini reel feeds cleanly at the bench or in the field. RoHS and REACH Article 33 compliance simplifies documentation for regulated projects.

Questions about this item

Does the 2:1 shrink ratio tubing get hot or emit fumes when used continuously near engine components?

The cross-linked polyolefin operates from -55 °C to +135 °C and carries a UL 224 VW-1 flame rating, so it withstands sustained heat without degrading.

What tools or supplies do I need before I can shrink the 12.7 mm tubing onto my wiring?

A heat gun or similar hot-air source is required; the tubing shrinks at a 2:1 ratio down to 6.4 mm and no adhesive or special fittings are needed.

Will the .024 in wall thickness hold up against the vibration and oil exposure on my older motorcycle harness?

The thin-wall PO-X material resists common oils, chemicals and fluids while remaining flexible, making it suitable for vintage vehicle wiring subject to vibration.
