12.7 mm SATA 3.0 Enclosure

This Hetai Tech enclosure accepts a 12.7 mm SATA hard drive or SSD and connects it to a host via SATA 3.0. It is designed for users who want to install a thicker 2.5 inch drive in an optical drive bay or similar slot. The bracket also supports 9.5 mm drives for broader compatibility. It suits system builders adding secondary storage to a laptop or desktop chassis.

Check drive height and bay depth

Verify that your drive measures exactly 12.7 mm or 9.5 mm in height before ordering. Confirm the target bay can accommodate the enclosure’s full length and the SATA data and power connectors. Ensure the host system provides a standard SATA interface for the connection.

Questions about this item

Does the 12.7 mm enclosure include cables or a power adapter?

The enclosure is supplied as the bracket only; a SATA data cable and any required power lead must be purchased separately.

When should I choose the 12.7 mm version instead of the 9.5 mm version?

Select the 12.7 mm bracket when your drive or laptop bay measures 12.7 mm thick; the 9.5 mm option fits thinner 9.5 mm bays.
