What the Hi-HONX 8KH3IN101 does
This HDMI 2.1 bidirectional switch routes three sources to one display or one source to three displays. It handles 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz with a 48 Gbps bandwidth ceiling. A remote gives 20-foot wireless control, and the unit works with Windows, Mac OS and Linux without extra drivers.
Sustained-load behaviour
The switch maintains the full 48 Gbps link during long sessions, so 8K 60 Hz or 4K 144 Hz streams stay stable without drop-outs. Switching between ports takes roughly five seconds, and only one output is active at a time in 1-in-3 mode. HDR and CEC pass through when the source and sink both support them, while ARC is not carried.
What this replaces and when to upgrade
It removes the need for separate 3-to-1 and 1-to-3 boxes and for swapping cables by hand. The step up makes sense when you run mixed 8K and high-refresh 4K gear and want a single remote-operated hub. Buyers who need simultaneous mirrored outputs or ARC audio return should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item
Does the Hi-HONX 8KH3IN101 get warm or draw noticeable power when left on all day?
The switch is a passive HDMI 2.1 device with no built-in power supply, so it adds no heat or power draw of its own.
Which cables and source devices must I already own to use the 3-port bidirectional switch?
You need HDMI 2.1 certified cables — 28 AWG up to 2 m on inputs, 1.8 m on outputs, or 24 AWG up to 1.5 m — plus sources and displays that match the 48 Gbps bandwidth.
Will my older 1080p monitor and 4K@60Hz capture card work through this switch without downscaling the 8K source?
Yes, the switch passes 1080p, 4K@60Hz and 8K@60Hz natively; each port negotiates its own EDID, so legacy gear stays at its native resolution.
