Closed-Back Planar Headphones for Critical Listening

The HiFiMAN SUNDARA uses a closed-back planar magnetic design with Stealth Magnet technology to reduce reflections and diffraction. An 80% thinner NEO supernano diaphragm delivers fast response and detailed imaging. Hand-assembled beechwood ear cups and a lightweight matte headband provide comfort for extended sessions. The package includes a detachable dual-sided 3.5mm cable and a 6.35mm adapter for broad device compatibility.

20 Ohm Impedance and 98dB Sensitivity Headroom

At 20 ohms impedance and 98dB sensitivity, the headphones are easily driven by portable players, desktop DACs, or integrated amplifiers without a dedicated high-power amp. The frequency response extends from 6Hz to 50kHz, capturing sub-bass weight and airy treble detail. The closed-back enclosure limits soundstage width compared to open designs and isolates less than noise-cancelling models in loud environments.

Detachable 3.5mm Cable With 6.35mm Adapter

A dual-sided 3.5mm termination allows cable replacement or balanced wiring options, while the included 6.35mm adapter connects directly to professional audio interfaces and headphone amplifiers. This single cable interface determines whether the headphones integrate with your existing source equipment without additional adapters. Weighing 432g, they remain manageable for long listening periods.

Questions about this item

Will the 20 ohm impedance work with my older portable player that struggles with low-impedance loads?

At 20 ohms the SUNDARA Closed-Back presents an easy load, so most portable players and desktop amps will drive it without strain.

How can I verify the Stealth Magnet design is performing correctly after I plug them in?

Listen for a clean, detailed presentation across the 6Hz-50kHz range with minimal harshness; the Stealth Magnet reduces reflections that normally cause glare.

Does the box include both the 3.5mm and 6.35mm cables or do I need to buy an adapter separately?

A detachable dual-sided 3.5mm cable and a 6.35mm adapter are both included, so no extra purchase is required for standard connections.
