Prime Timber Pencil v2.0

The HighTide Penco Prime Timber Pencil v2.0 is a lightweight mechanical pencil crafted from high-quality California incense cedar. Its hexagonal barrel prevents rolling on angled surfaces, while brass accents add weight and a tactile finish. Supplied with a single 2 mm B-grade lead and a matching sharpener, it is ready for immediate use.

Suited for sketching and daily notes

The soft graphite lays down dark, smooth lines ideal for effortless sketching, drawing, or capturing quick ideas. The replaceable lead system supports extended work without discarding the barrel. Writers who prefer a firmer lead grade or a thicker diameter should consider a different model.

Consistent feel during long sessions

The cedar body remains light in hand, reducing fatigue during sustained drawing or note-taking. Brass components retain their grip and balance as the pencil warms with use. The integrated sharpener keeps the point sharp without interrupting workflow to find a separate tool.

Questions about this item

What lead diameter and grade does the Penco Prime Timber Pencil v2.0 take?

It uses 2 mm B-grade lead made in Japan, which is replaceable when the included piece runs out.

Will the included sharpener work with standard wooden pencils I already own?

The sharpener is sized for the 2 mm lead in this pencil; it will not sharpen typical 8 mm wooden pencils.

How can I confirm the pencil is ready to use right after unboxing?

Extend the lead, make a few test strokes on paper, and check that the hexagonal barrel stays put on a sloped desk.
