What this lamp replaces

The Hitachi HCP-U26W is a genuine compatible replacement lamp module for Hitachi projectors that use the DT01191 part number. It arrives as a fully assembled 215W UHP bulb and housing, so no separate component handling is required. Installers can swap the module in minutes and restore full brightness immediately.

Brightness life under continuous use

In normal mode the lamp is rated for 2000 hours of operation before brightness drops to half its initial level. Switching to economy mode extends that rating to 3000 hours while reducing power draw and heat output. Both figures assume standard ventilation and regular filter cleaning; dust buildup or restricted airflow will shorten the usable interval.

Checks before ordering

Confirm that your projector lists the HCP-U26W or DT01191 as the approved lamp module in its service manual. Verify that the existing housing matches the form factor shown in the manufacturer documentation, because some revisions use a different cage. Ensure the projector’s lamp-hour counter can be reset after installation, otherwise the replacement timer will not track the new module correctly.

Questions about this item

Does the 215W lamp generate noticeably more heat or fan noise during long sessions?

The module uses a 215W UHP bulb rated for 2000 hours in normal mode and 3000 hours in economy mode; economy mode reduces power draw and therefore lowers heat and fan noise during extended use.

Must the projector already have the original housing or can this module be fitted directly?

The lamp ships as a complete assembly with bulb and housing, so no separate housing is required — it installs directly into compatible Hitachi projectors.

Will this DT01191 module work in older Hitachi projectors that originally shipped with a lower-wattage lamp?

The HCP-U26W is designed for specific Hitachi models that specify the DT01191 part number; it is not a universal retrofit for projectors that use a different lamp code.
