Four-computer HDMI KVM switch

The Hitoor 8401 connects four HDMI-equipped computers to one HDMI monitor and a shared keyboard and mouse. It is built for users who need to control multiple desktops or laptops from a single workstation without unplugging cables. Each source must provide an HDMI output and a USB 3.0 connection. The switch is new and driver-free across Windows, macOS, Linux and Unix systems.

Bundled cables and remote extend control

The package includes four USB 3.0 cables, a 1.5 m wired remote and a 12 V power adapter. The cables carry both video and peripheral data to the switch, while the remote lets you change the active computer from up to 1.5 metres away. Front-panel push buttons provide a second switching method, and LED indicators show the selected port. No hot-key switching is supported.

8K 60 Hz over HDMI 2.1 decides fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the maximum video capability of 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz, which requires HDMI 2.1 cables on both the computer and monitor sides. Lower resolutions such as 4K at 120 Hz or 60 Hz are also supported with backward-compatible cables. USB 3.0 ports deliver 5 Gbps data transfer for connected storage, printers or hubs.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 3.0 ports on the Hitoor 8401 need any driver updates to keep working with external drives?

No driver updates are required; the switch is plug-and-play and the USB 3.0 ports recognise hubs, hard drives, printers and scanners automatically across Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Unix systems.

What is the first resolution limit reached when pushing 8K@60Hz through the HDMI 2.1 inputs continuously?

The switch supports 8K@60Hz, 4K@144Hz and 4K@120Hz; 8K@60Hz is the highest resolution and refresh rate combination specified, so that ceiling appears first under sustained use.

How much heat or fan noise does the unit produce when powered by the 12 V adapter and running all day?

The specifications list no cooling fan; with the included DC 12 V power adapter the unit runs silently, and only normal warm-up from the HDMI 2.1 and USB 3.0 circuitry is expected during continuous operation.
