Dual-monitor KVM for two computers

This DisplayPort KVM switch lets one keyboard, mouse and four USB 3.0 peripherals control two desktops or laptops across two monitors. It supports extended or copy display modes so the same pair of screens can show different content from each machine. Switching is handled by front-panel push buttons or the included wired remote. No external power adapter is required.

DisplayPort 1.4 bandwidth limits resolution

The switch passes DP 1.4 signals and is backward compatible with DP 1.2 sources. Maximum supported timings are 8K at 30 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz; lower resolutions such as 2560×1440 can reach 144 Hz. Each connected computer must provide two native DisplayPort outputs — adapters are needed if a system lacks dual DP ports. Laptop docking stations may further restrict achievable refresh rates.

Four USB 3.0 ports share printers.

Two 1.5 m USB 3.0 cables and two 1.5 m DP 1.4 cables are included for immediate hookup. The four downstream ports handle keyboards, mice, printers, scanners or storage at USB 3.0 speeds. Video switching is limited to two computers and two monitors; setups requiring three or more hosts or displays will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

Should I pick this 2-port model or look for a 4-port version?

This unit handles exactly two computers and two monitors. If you only need to switch between two PCs, the 2-port version covers it; a 4-port model would add unused ports and cost.

What does the 8K@30Hz figure mean once the switch is in my system?

Each DisplayPort link can carry the 8K resolution at 30 frames per second, so both monitors show that resolution simultaneously provided your graphics cards and cables support it.

Which DisplayPort standard does it use and what refresh rates does that cap?

The included cables are DP 1.4, which supports the listed 8K@30Hz and 4K@144Hz modes; DP 1.2 is also supported for lower resolutions such as 4K@60Hz.
