Adds four USB 3.0 ports (one Type C, three Type A) via PCI Express with 5.0 Gbps transfer rates and SATA power option
This PCI Express card adds one USB 3.0 Type C and three Type A ports to a standard desktop computer. It uses the FL1100 chipset and is compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices. Windows 8 and 10 support the card without extra drivers; Windows XP, Vista and 7 need the included driver package. The card fits a free PCI Express slot and provides up to 5.0 Gbps transfer rates.
The card draws auxiliary power through a 15 pin SATA connector. A 4 pin Molex to SATA adapter and a 15 pin to dual 15 pin SATA Y cable are included so the card can be powered even if the PSU has only Molex plugs or no spare SATA plugs. An internal USB 3.0 20 pin header is also present for an optional front panel adapter. Match cable strand colours when connecting power to avoid faulty currents.
The controller supports the UASP protocol which can accelerate read and write speeds of SSD storage by up to 70 percent over traditional USB 3.0 bulk endpoints. Actual throughput is still limited by the connected device. The card operates in bus powered mode for most peripherals so no external power brick is required. Hot swapping and plug and play are supported for convenient device changes during long sessions.

The card provides four ports sharing one 5.0 Gbps PCI Express lane, so the aggregate bandwidth ceiling appears before any single port limit.
The board has no fan and draws power only through the 15-pin SATA connector, so it adds negligible heat and zero audible noise.
You need a free 15-pin SATA power plug, or a 4-pin Molex plug plus the included Molex-to-SATA adapter, or the supplied SATA Y-cable to split an existing SATA lead.
