Scale & Subject

This is a 1/72 scale diecast model of the Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II wearing Wisconsin Air National Guard markings from 2004. It represents aircraft 22-5696, the 1000th Lightning II produced, assigned to the 176th Fighter Squadron. The model arrives in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging.

Collector Focus

The officially licensed replica suits adult collectors and military-history enthusiasts who value accurate panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details. An opening canopy and included missile accessories add display flexibility. Buyers seeking larger scales, different air forces or snap-together kits should look elsewhere.

Materials & Durability

Diecast metal combined with plastic construction gives the model a heavy, realistic feel while keeping fine details intact. The sturdy build withstands regular handling during shelf rearrangement. A supplied display stand supports the airframe securely for long-term presentation.

Questions about this item

What display space do I need for the 8.5-inch length and 5.75-inch wingspan?

Allow at least 9 inches of shelf length and 6 inches of width so the diecast model sits clear of other items.

Will the opening canopy and missile accessories match my other 1/72 Air Power Series models?

Yes, the canopy operates and the missiles are moulded to the same 1/72 scale used across the Air Power Series line.

How can I confirm the Wisconsin ANG markings are correct after unboxing?

Check the tail for "22-5696" and the 176th FS insignia that identify the 1000th Lightning II delivered in 2004.
