Scale and subject

This is a 1/72 scale diecast model of the McDonnell Douglas F-4F Phantom II fighter-bomber. It represents the aircraft marked AF72-257 from the 20th Fighter Squadron, 49th Fighter Wing at Holloman AFB in 2002. The model features diecast metal and plastic construction with detailed exterior surfaces and realistic panel lines.

Collectors seeking this specific livery

The model suits collectors who want an officially licensed Air Power Series replica with opening canopy, detachable ordnance loads, included pilot figure and display stand. It is not intended for children or rough play, and buyers needing a larger scale or different squadron markings should look elsewhere.

Display preparation

The model arrives in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging and is ready for display on the included stand. The opening canopy and detachable ordnance are the only moving parts, so handling them gently avoids breakage. No assembly or tools are required beyond placing the model on its stand.

Questions about this item

Will the 10.25-inch-long diecast model and its included stand fit on my existing display shelf?

The model measures approximately 10.25 inches long with a 6.25-inch wingspan, so allow a little extra clearance around the stand for comfortable viewing.

Can I place this 1/72 scale F-4F Phantom II next to older 1/72 aircraft models without a size mismatch?

Yes, the 1/72 scale matches other 1/72 diecast aircraft, so it will sit proportionally alongside them on the same shelf.

How can I verify the model represents AF72-257 of the 20th Fighter Squadron, 49th Fighter Wing as released in 2002?

Check the box and model markings for the 20th FS and 49th FW insignia, the AF72-257 serial, and the 2002 Air Power Series branding.
