Scale & Subject

This 1/72 scale diecast model replicates the Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat flown by Lt. Oscar Chenoweth of VF-38 during 1943 operations at Segi Point. It is an officially licensed collectible aimed at adult enthusiasts of military aviation history. The model arrives in manufacturer's original unopened packaging. Detailed exterior features include realistic panel lines, antennas and access panels.

Capacity & Headroom

The replica measures approximately 5.25 inches in length with a 7.25-inch wingspan, offering substantial presence for shelf display. Diecast metal and plastic construction provides a heavy, realistic feel and durability for handling. It comfortably serves as a centrepiece in a dedicated aviation collection. Space constraints may limit placement on smaller desks or crowded cabinets.

Decisive Specification

The opening canopy reveals a detailed cockpit and includes a removable pilot figure, while detachable ordnance loads allow configuration changes. These interactive elements distinguish the model from static display-only alternatives. Collectors seeking fixed-pose replicas without moving parts should consider simpler options. The feature set targets hobbyists who value functional accuracy.

Questions about this item

Will the 1/72 scale Hellcat match the size of my other 1/72 aircraft on the shelf?

Yes, the model is built to 1/72 scale with a 7.25 inch wingspan and 5.25 inch length, so it aligns with other 1/72 diecast aircraft in your collection.

How can I confirm the canopy and ordnance are correctly fitted after unboxing?

The canopy should open smoothly to reveal the included pilot figure, and the detachable ordnance loads attach under the wings without gaps, matching the detailed exterior shown in the product photos.

Does the box contain the display stand and pilot figure, or must I buy them separately?

The set includes a display stand, a pilot figure, detachable ordnance loads and an opening canopy all in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging — nothing extra is required.
