1/72 Scale Diecast RA-5C Vigilante

This 1/72 scale diecast model replicates the North American RA-5C Vigilante in its 1966 experimental scheme aboard the USS Constellation. It is aimed at adult collectors and military-history enthusiasts who value accurate, officially licensed replicas.

Detailed exterior with opening canopy

The model features realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details that mirror the real aircraft. A pilot figure and display stand are included, while diecast metal and plastic construction gives a heavy, realistic feel. The 12.75-inch length and 8.75-inch wingspan provide substantial presence without overwhelming display space.

Limits of the 1/72 scale format

At 1/72 scale the model cannot reproduce every rivet or cockpit instrument found on the full-size Vigilante. Buyers who need larger-scale detail or removable internal components will find this format restrictive. The fixed landing gear and single paint scheme also limit configuration options for diorama builders.

Questions about this item

Will the 1/72 scale match other 1/72 aircraft models I already own?

Yes, the 1/72 scale is a standard size so this Vigilante will sit correctly alongside other 1/72 diecast or plastic aircraft in your collection.

How can I confirm the opening canopy operates correctly once I unbox it?

Gently lift the canopy hinge; it should swing open smoothly to reveal the cockpit interior and included pilot figure without forcing any parts.

Does the box contain a display stand or must I buy one separately?

The package includes a dedicated display stand, so no separate purchase is needed for shelf or desktop presentation.
