Wireway U-Connector for 4×4 in F44 Series

The HOFFMAN F44GUC is a painted steel U-connector designed to join sections of 4-inch by 4-inch F44 series wireway. It carries a NEMA Type 1 rating and meets CSA C22.2 No. 26, EEMAC Type 1, IEC 60529 and UL 870 standards. Electrical contractors and panel builders use it to create continuous cable-management runs in indoor commercial and light-industrial installations.

Sustained-load behaviour in indoor environments

The 16-gauge steel body and painted finish resist corrosion and mechanical wear during long-term service inside NEMA 1 enclosures. Closure plates, open adapters, panel adapters and telescope fittings included with the connector maintain the enclosure rating throughout the run. The assembly remains electrically continuous and mechanically stable under normal indoor temperature and humidity cycles.

Installation notes and common issues

The connector bolts directly to matching F44 wireway flanges using standard hardware; no specialised tools are required beyond those used for the wireway itself. Installers must verify that the 4-inch by 4-inch dimensions match the existing wireway exactly, as the connector does not adapt to other sizes. Omitting the supplied closure plates or misaligning telescope fittings can compromise the NEMA 1 seal and cable-fill capacity.
