Home Concept 17" Round Diffuser Translucent frosted White

17" Frosted Acrylic Diffuser

This 17-inch round diffuser is made from 3 mm thick frosted white acrylic for drum-style lampshades and pendants. It suits homeowners who want to soften harsh glare from bare CFL, LED or halogen bulbs without replacing the fixture. The translucent disc fits the bottom of 18 or 19 inch wide shades and can also be mounted on top of table or floor lamps. It is not intended for fixtures that require a smaller or larger diameter disc.

3 mm Thick Construction with Center Hole

The acrylic disc is 25 percent thicker than 2.4 mm alternatives, giving a rigid feel that resists bowing over time. A slip-fit 1 cm center hole allows the diffuser to rest on the shade’s spider or harp without tools. The matte finish on both sides diffuses light evenly downward, reducing direct glare while adding a finished look to shallow drum pendants. No hardware or adhesives are included, so installation relies on the existing shade structure.

Glare Reduction for Reading and Accent Lighting

By scattering the output of energy-efficient bulbs, the diffuser creates a softer pool of light that is easier on the eyes during reading or task work. It also masks the visible bulb inside drum shades, giving the fixture a cleaner appearance when viewed from below. The accessory works with both hanging pendants and portable lamps, but it does not alter colour temperature or increase lumen output. Buyers needing a specific mounting kit or a different diameter should look elsewhere.
