Two-Drawer Lateral File Cabinet

The HON 672LL 600 Series is a 30-inch wide steel lateral file with two drawers designed for letter-size or legal-size folder storage. It features a putty baked enamel finish over rust-inhibiting phosphate pretreatment and double-walled base construction for rigidity.

Offices needing side-to-side filing

Suits workspaces that require secure, high-density document storage where only one drawer should open at a time. Not suited for users who need front-to-back filing rails, more than two drawers, or a mobile pedestal on casters.

Mechanical interlock prevents simultaneous drawer

The cabinet allows only one drawer to extend at once, inhibiting tipping without external anchoring. Four adjustable leveling glides compensate for uneven floors, and the HON One Key interchangeable core lock secures both drawer sides simultaneously.

Questions about this item

Does the HON 672LL lateral file arrive fully assembled, or do I need to install the counterweight and leveling glides myself?

The cabinet ships with the counterweight included where required for ANSI/BIFMA stability and four adjustable leveling glides; both are pre-installed or attach without tools.

Will the 30-inch wide drawers of this 600 Series file hold my existing letter-size hanging folders side-to-side?

Yes, each drawer includes adjustable side-to-side hangrails that accept both letter and legal folders, so your current folders fit without modification.

How can I confirm the mechanical interlock and lock core are functioning correctly after positioning the file?

Open one drawer fully — the interlock will physically block the second drawer. Then turn the HON One Key core; the bolt should engage both drawer sides simultaneously.
