Two-drawer lateral file

This two-drawer lateral file provides secure, side-to-side filing for letter and legal folders in a 30 inch wide steel case. A baked enamel finish over phosphate pretreatment resists corrosion while the double-walled base adds rigidity. The HON One Key interchangeable core lock secures both drawers simultaneously. Four adjustable leveling glides compensate for uneven floors.

Offices needing compact high-density filing

Suits workspaces that require lockable lateral storage within a 30 inch footprint and prefer drawers that open one at a time for stability. Not suited for buyers who need vertical drawer orientation, more than two drawers, or a mobile pedestal that fits under a desk.

Mechanical interlock prevents tipping

The mechanical interlock allows only one drawer to open at a time, meeting ANSI/BIFMA stability requirements with the included counterweight. Heavy-duty three-part telescoping steel ball-bearing suspension delivers smooth operation across the full extension. Drawers include adjustable hangrails for letter or legal filing.

Questions about this item

Does the 672LS lateral file come with everything needed for immediate use or must I buy hangrails or a counterweight separately?

The 672LS ships with side-to-side hangrails for letter or legal folders, a counterweight where required for ANSI / BIFMA stability, four adjustable leveling glides, magnetic label holders and the HON One Key lock core already installed.

How do I decide between the 600 Series two-drawer 672LS and other widths or drawer counts in the same line?

Choose the 672LS when you need 30-inch wide lateral filing in a two-drawer height of 28.38 inches; other 600 Series models vary in width, drawer count or overall height to fit different space and capacity needs.

What does the 30-inch width mean for actual folder capacity once the 672LS is in my office?

Each 30-inch drawer holds letter-size folders side-to-side or legal-size folders side-to-side using the included adjustable hangrails, giving two full rows of lateral filing per drawer.
