Four-Drawer Lateral File for Legal and Letter Filing

The HON 674LQ 600 Series lateral file provides four drawers that accommodate both letter and legal size folders side-to-side using included adjustable hangrails. Its 30 inch width and 19.25 inch depth suit offices needing high-capacity document storage in a single cabinet. Steel construction with a baked enamel finish over phosphate pretreatment resists rust and daily wear. The unit arrives new and ready for assembly in a light gray colour.

Stability Features and Smooth Drawer Operation

A factory-installed counterweight meets ANSI and BIFMA stability requirements where applicable, while a mechanical interlock permits only one drawer to open at a time to inhibit tipping. Heavy-duty three-part telescoping steel ball-bearing suspension delivers smooth drawer travel across the full extension. Four adjustable leveling glides compensate for uneven flooring to keep the cabinet level and secure.

Security and Organisation Accessories Included

The HON One Key interchangeable core-removable lock secures both sides of every drawer with a single turn. Bright anodized aluminium recessed pulls and magnetic label holders are fitted to each drawer front for easy identification. Side-to-side hangrails come pre-installed so users can configure letter or legal filing immediately without extra parts.

Questions about this item

How do I install the HON 674LQ lateral file and what step is often missed?

Position the cabinet, then turn each of the four adjustable leveling glides until the unit sits level and does not rock; the counterweight is already installed to meet ANSI/BIFMA stability requirements, so skipping the glide adjustment is the step that causes instability.

What maintenance or replacement will the 674LQ need over time?

The steel ball-bearing suspension and lock core are the primary wear points; the HON One Key interchangeable core can be removed and replaced if the lock mechanism fails, while the suspension rarely needs service under normal office use.

What limit appears first when the 674LQ is used continuously?

The mechanical interlock permits only one drawer to open at a time, so sustained use is limited by the single-drawer access rule rather than by drawer travel or weight capacity.
