Brigade 600 Series 36" Four-Drawer Lateral File

The HON 684LL is a 36-inch wide, four-drawer lateral filing cabinet finished in Putty. It belongs to the Brigade 600 Series designed for high-activity office environments. The all-weld case construction and double-walled base deliver structural strength for daily use. A built-in counterweight and interlock system allow only one drawer to open at a time.

Offices needing secure.

This cabinet suits workplaces that require organized, tamper-resistant storage for hanging folders in a compact footprint. The two-sided lock mechanism secures sensitive documents effectively. Buyers who need open shelving, mobile pedestals, or fire-rated protection should consider alternative storage solutions. It is not designed for oversized media or non-standard folder formats.

Four drawers handle letter and legal hanging folders

Each drawer operates on heavy-duty steel ball-bearing suspensions for smooth, quiet motion. The 36-inch width provides substantial lateral filing capacity for active archives. The interlock and counterweight prevent tipping when a single drawer is fully extended. Capacity ends at the physical limits of the four drawers; additional volume requires extra cabinets.

Questions about this item

Do I need to purchase hanging file folders separately to use the 36-inch wide drawers?

Yes, the lateral file accepts letter or legal hanging file folders which are not included with the cabinet.

Will the built-in counterweight keep the 600 Series cabinet stable on a raised access floor?

The built-in counterweight stabilizes the unit when a drawer is opened, and the interlock allows only one drawer open at a time to prevent tipping.

How can I confirm the steel ball-bearing suspensions are operating correctly after assembly?

Each drawer should open and close quietly and smoothly, and the two-sided lock mechanism should engage securely when the drawers are shut.
