Five-drawer lateral file

The HON 685LL is a 36-inch wide lateral file with five drawers, finished in Putty. It belongs to the Brigade 600 Series and uses all-weld case construction with a double-walled base. A built-in counterweight and an interlock that allows only one drawer open at a time keep the cabinet stable.

High-volume filing with space limits

This cabinet suits offices that need maximum folder capacity in a compact footprint and prefer a clean look that matches panel-based workstations. Buyers who want more storage in a narrower tower or who need a shorter unit for under-desk placement should look at something else.

Five-drawer capacity

The five drawers accept letter or legal hanging file folders and run on heavy-duty steel ball-bearing suspensions for smooth, quiet operation. The two-sided lock mechanism resists tampering and the unit is made in the USA with a full lifetime warranty.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the counterweight is keeping the cabinet stable after I load the first drawer?

Open only the top drawer fully — the built-in counterweight should keep the unit from tipping; if it rocks, reposition the cabinet on a level floor.

Which hanging-file hardware is included and what must I supply?

The cabinet accepts letter or legal hanging folders; rails are factory-installed, so you only need to provide the folders themselves.

Should I choose the 36-inch-wide five-drawer model or a narrower version for letter-size folders?

The 36-inch width fits both letter and legal folders side-by-side; select it when you need maximum capacity in a single footprint.
