42-Inch Two-Drawer Lateral File

The HON 692LL 600 Series lateral file provides two full-width drawers in a 42-inch wide putty finish. It is built for offices that need side-to-side filing of letter or legal folders without the footprint of a vertical cabinet. The double-walled base and reinforced steel case give it the rigidity required for daily high-volume use.

Counterweight and Leveling for Stable Placement

A factory-installed counterweight prevents tipping when a fully loaded drawer is extended, while four adjustable leveling guides compensate for uneven floors. Telescoping ball-bearing suspension lets each drawer open smoothly even at maximum capacity. The mechanical interlock ensures only one drawer opens at a time, so the unit stays balanced without wall anchoring.

Letter and Legal Capacity with Locking Security

Included adjustable hangrails configure the drawers for either letter-size or legal-size folders running front to back. An HON One Key interchangeable core-removable lock secures both drawers simultaneously, and the lock mechanism engages both sides of each drawer front. Plastic label holders on every drawer face keep contents identified without extra accessories.

Questions about this item

What limits how many drawers can be open at once on the HON 692LL?

A mechanical interlock allows only one drawer to open at a time, preventing the cabinet from tipping when a loaded drawer is extended.

How does the 600 Series lateral file handle noise and heat during all-day use?

Telescoping ball-bearing suspension keeps drawer operation smooth and quiet, while the baked enamel finish over phosphate pretreatment resists heat buildup and corrosion.

What must already be in place for the HON 692LL to work as a secure filing unit?

The HON One Key interchangeable core-removable lock secures both drawer sides, and four adjustable leveling guides stabilize the 42-inch wide case on uneven floors.
