Three-Drawer Lateral File 42w

The HON 693LL 600 Series lateral file provides secure, high-capacity storage for letter and legal documents in a 42-inch wide cabinet. Three drawers operate on telescoping ball-bearing suspension for smooth motion. A mechanical interlock prevents more than one drawer opening at once. The baked enamel finish over phosphate pretreatment resists rust and daily wear.

Offices needing high-density side-to-side filing

This unit suits workplaces that store large volumes of folders side-to-side and value the stability of a counterweight and four adjustable leveling guides. The core-removable HON One Key lock secures both drawer sides simultaneously. Buyers who need vertical drawer orientation, a different width, or a finish other than Putty should consider alternative configurations.

Three drawers with letter and legal hangrails

Included adjustable hangrails accommodate both letter-size and legal-size folders across the full drawer width. Double-walled base construction and reinforced case steel give the cabinet rigidity under full loads. The interlock and counterweight maintain stability when a single drawer is extended. Maximum capacity is reached when all three drawers are filled to their structural limits.

Questions about this item

What floor preparation is required for the four adjustable leveling guides on the 693LL to stabilize the cabinet?

The four adjustable leveling guides on the 693LL compensate for uneven floors; simply turn each guide until the 42" wide cabinet sits level and does not rock.

Can the mechanical interlock on the 693LL be overridden if I need two drawers open at once for a large filing task?

No, the mechanical interlock on the 693LL is designed to allow only one drawer to open at a time and cannot be overridden; this prevents tipping and ensures safe operation.

How do I confirm the HON One Key lock on the 693LL is securing both sides of each drawer after installation?

Turn the core-removable key to the locked position and pull firmly on both the left and right edges of each drawer front; neither side should release when the lock is engaged.
