Five-Drawer Lateral File with Posting Shelf

The HON 695LL 600 Series cabinet provides five drawers including a top roll-out shelf for side-to-side filing. It accommodates both letter-size and legal-size folders using the included adjustable hangrails. A mechanical interlock ensures only one drawer opens at a time for stability. Lockable drawers secure both sides with a core-removable mechanism.

Counterweight and Interlock Safety Limits

A factory-supplied counterweight is included where required to meet stability standards for tall lateral files. The mechanical interlock physically prevents a second drawer from opening while one is already extended. Four adjustable leveling guides compensate for uneven floors but cannot overcome structural floor deficiencies. The unit is not designed for stacking or wall mounting.

Double-Walled Steel and Baked Enamel Finish

Reinforced case steel uses double-walled base construction for rigidity under full drawer loads. Baked enamel over a rust-inhibiting phosphate pretreatment protects the Putty finish from corrosion and daily abrasion. Telescoping ball-bearing suspension delivers smooth travel even when drawers are heavily loaded. Aluminum recessed pulls and plastic label holders withstand frequent use without protruding into aisles.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 42-inch width or the 19-inch depth version?

The unit is a single model measuring 42 inches wide by 19 inches deep, so both dimensions apply together.

What does the five-drawer layout provide in daily use?

You get a roll-out posting shelf on top plus four filing drawers that hold letter or legal folders side-to-side with adjustable hangrails.

How does the ball-bearing suspension affect drawer operation?

Telescoping ball-bearing slides give smooth, full-extension travel while the mechanical interlock prevents more than one drawer opening at once.
