Three-Drawer Lateral File 36" Width

The HON 883LL 800 Series lateral file provides secure, high-density document storage for offices that need letter and legal folders arranged side-to-side. Its reinforced steel case and baked enamel finish in Putty are built for daily commercial use. Three drawers glide on three-part telescoping ball-bearing suspension for smooth operation.

Dual Side Locks with One Key Interchangeable Core

The single specification that decides fit is the two-sided lock mechanism that secures both drawer walls simultaneously and accepts HON One Key interchangeable cores. This allows facility managers to key multiple cabinets alike or differently without replacing the entire lock body. A mechanical interlock prevents more than one drawer from opening at a time.

Three Drawers for Letter and Legal Folders

Each drawer accommodates letter-size or legal-size folders laterally on included adjustable hangrails, giving three full rows of high-density filing. The double-walled base keeps the frame aligned under full loads, while four adjustable leveling guides stabilise the cabinet on uneven floors. Drawers stop flush at the top and sides with extension restraint to prevent accidental pull-out.

Questions about this item

How much lateral filing space does the 36" width actually give me?

The 36" wide drawers hold letter or legal folders side-to-side using the included adjustable hangrails, so each drawer provides a full 36 inches of front-to-back filing capacity.

What does the dual side lock mechanism secure on the 883LL?

The two-sided lock engages both left and right drawer edges simultaneously, and the mechanical interlock prevents more than one drawer opening at a time for added security.

Will the 40.88" height and 19.25" depth fit under my standard desk return?

At 40.88" high and 19.25" deep, the cabinet matches typical lateral-file proportions; the four adjustable leveling guides let you level it on uneven floors so it sits flush against a wall or credenza.
