Four-Drawer Lateral File 36" Wide

The HON 884LS 800 Series lateral file provides four drawers in a 36-inch wide charcoal cabinet. Reinforced case construction and a baked enamel finish over phosphate pretreatment deliver durability for daily office use.

Suits offices needing high-density side-to-side

This cabinet suits workspaces that store letter or legal folders side-to-side using the included adjustable hangrails. Buyers who need vertical drawer orientation or a narrower footprint should consider a different configuration.

Four drawers handle high-volume folder storage

Four full-extension drawers with ball-bearing suspension accommodate large quantities of letter or legal folders. The mechanical interlock permits only one drawer open at a time, limiting simultaneous access to multiple drawers.

Questions about this item

What floor space do I need for the 36-inch-wide 884LS lateral file?

Allow at least 36 inches of width and 19 inches of depth for the cabinet footprint, plus clearance in front for the drawers to extend fully.

Will the mechanical interlock on the 800 Series file work if I keep an older single-lock cabinet next to it?

Yes, the interlock is internal to each 884LS unit; it allows only one drawer of this cabinet to open at a time and does not interact with adjacent furniture.

How can I verify the ball-bearing suspension on the 884LS is operating correctly after assembly?

Each drawer should glide open and closed smoothly on the three-part telescoping slides, stop at full extension without binding, and the magnetic label holders should align flush with the drawer front.
