Volt Task Chair Synchro-Tilt Black

The HON Volt 5703GA10T is a new office task chair with black stain-resistant polyester upholstery. It uses a synchro-tilt mechanism that reclines the back at a 2-to-1 ratio to the seat angle. A pneumatic lever adjusts seat height between 18 and 22 inches. The five-star base has hooded dual-wheel casters for 360-degree swivel mobility.

Suits users wanting simple ergonomic controls

This chair fits people who need adjustable seat height, tilt tension and tilt lock in a compact frame. The contoured back measures 17 inches wide and the seat is 18 inches wide. Buyers who want height-adjustable armrests should look elsewhere because arms are sold separately. It also does not suit anyone needing a mesh back or a headrest.

Check your workspace and seating needs

Verify the overall footprint of 25.75 inches deep by 25 inches wide by 26 inches high fits your desk area. Confirm the seat depth of 18 inches and back height of 18 inches match your body proportions. Ensure the hard casters are appropriate for your floor surface. The chair meets applicable ANSI/BIFMA and ISTA performance standards.

Questions about this item

Does the chair arrive fully assembled or will I need tools to attach the five-star base and casters?

The chair ships as one unit; the five-star base with 2-1/2" hooded dual-wheel casters is already installed so no tools are required.

Will my existing HON height-adjustable arms fit the 5703 frame without modification?

Height-adjustable arms are sold separately and are designed to attach to the 5703 frame, so compatible HON arm kits will fit directly.

How can I verify the synchro-tilt is operating at the correct 2-to-1 ratio after setup?

Lean back and observe the backrest recline roughly twice as far as the seat pan angle changes; the motion should feel smooth and coordinated.
