Mid-Back Office Chair for Extended Use

The HON Ignition mid-back chair supports users up to 300 lb with a seat height range of 17 to 22 inches. It is designed for all-day seating comfort across a wide range of body types, accommodating workers from the 5th percentile female to the 95th percentile male. Polyester upholstery with Nano-Tex provides superior stain resistance for daily office tasks.

Assembly and Common Issues

The chair arrives ready for assembly with a five-star base, casters and adjustable T-arms included. Most issues arise when the synchro-tilt tension is not matched to the user's weight, causing the back to recline too easily or feel too stiff. Ensure all bolts are fully tightened on the base and arm brackets to prevent wobble over time.

Pre-Purchase Checks

Verify that the 17 to 22 inch seat height range suits your desk or work surface height. Confirm the 300 lb weight capacity meets the requirements of the intended user. Check that the polyester upholstery with Nano-Tex finish aligns with your cleaning and durability expectations for the environment.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the synchro-tilt and independent back angle are working after assembly?

Sit in the chair, lean back and feel the seat and back move together in a fixed ratio; then engage the variable locking lever at any of the preset angles and verify the back stays fixed while the seat remains free.

What comes in the box and what must I purchase separately?

The box contains the mid-back frame, polyester upholstery with Nano-Tex stain resistance, adjustable T-arms, five-star base with casters, synchro-tilt mechanism and all mounting hardware; no additional parts are required for standard use.

Which seat-height range should I choose for a user between the 5th and 95th percentile?

The single 17 to 22 inch pneumatic adjustment covers the full 5th-percentile-female to 95th-percentile-male range, so no alternate height cylinder is needed.
