Everyday counter scanning

The Honeywell Fusion MS3780 is a new omnidirectional laser barcode scanner built for consistent daily use at point-of-sale counters. It reads 1D barcodes and draws power through a wired connection, so there are no batteries to charge or replace. The unit weighs 0.4 lbs and includes a USB cable for immediate setup.

Ready-to-use cable

A new USB cable ships in the box, letting you plug the scanner into a host system without hunting for a separate lead. The same hardware also supports RS-232 and Keyboard Wedge interfaces, so the included cable covers the most common modern connection while the scanner itself remains compatible with legacy ports.

Lightweight fixed-mount design

At 0.4 lbs the scanner sits steadily on a countertop without a heavy base, and its omnidirectional scan pattern reduces the need to align every barcode by hand. Wired connectivity means the device stays exactly where it is mounted, avoiding the misplacement that can happen with wireless units during busy shifts.

Questions about this item

Will the laser module in the Honeywell Fusion MS3780 need periodic replacement after heavy daily use?

The scanner uses a solid-state laser with no user-replaceable module; Honeywell rates the engine for the life of the unit under normal retail workloads.

What limits continuous scanning speed on the Metrologic MS3780 during an eight-hour shift?

The 1D laser engine decodes at up to 232 scans per second, so sustained throughput is capped by that scan rate rather than the USB interface.

How much heat and noise does the Fusion MS3780 produce when left powered on all day?

It draws bus power over USB, runs silently with no fan, and the housing stays near ambient temperature during continuous operation.
