Handheld 1D scanner reads codes up to 305 mm away at 100 scans per second and includes RS232, USB, Keyboard Wedge and 46xx RS485 interfaces plus optional EAS integration
The Honeywell MK9590-61A38-A-EAS reads standard 1D bar codes across RS232, USB, Keyboard Wedge and 46xx RS485 interfaces. Its 650 nm VLD light source captures codes from contact to 305 mm with a 100 scan lines per second rate. The dark grey VoyagerGS body includes a stand and coiled cable for counter or handheld use. Optional EAS integration suits retail loss-prevention workflows.
At 100 scans per second the engine maintains throughput during continuous inventory passes without pause. Automatic in-stand detection switches between handheld and presentation modes instantly, keeping the beam active only when needed. Durable construction resists repeated drops and all-day handling in busy check-out lanes. The wide 300 mm field at maximum depth reduces re-positioning on larger items.
Replaces scanners limited to one host connection or lacking EAS support, cutting cable swaps and separate deactivation hardware. The jump is worth it when a single device must serve POS, back-office and self-service stations simultaneously. Buyers who need 2D imaging or wireless freedom will not find those capabilities here.

The scanner uses a 650 nm VLD light source and performs 100 scan lines per second with no moving parts, so heat and power draw stay low during extended use.
The unit supports RS232, USB, Keyboard Wedge and 46xx RS485; you need at least one of those ports or a compatible adapter on the host.
Yes, the depth of field is rated 0 mm to 305 mm for 0.330 mm (13 mil) codes, so legacy labels scan reliably within that range.
