Purpose and audience

The Honor X9b 5G is a factory-unlocked smartphone with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. It runs Android 13 on a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset and uses a 6.78-inch AMOLED display. The device targets users who want a single SIM-free handset with generous onboard capacity and 5G connectivity.

Who it suits and who it doesn't

This model suits buyers who need dual-SIM standby, a 108 MP main camera and a 5800 mAh battery with fast charging. It does not suit shoppers who require a 3.5 mm headphone jack, expandable storage via card slot or a higher-resolution front camera than the 16 MP unit provided.

Capacity and headroom

The 512 GB internal memory holds large media libraries and many apps without a card slot for expansion. The 8 GB RAM and Adreno 710 GPU handle multitasking and 4K video recording at 30 fps smoothly. Heavy 3D gaming or sustained 4K capture may eventually hit thermal or memory limits.

Questions about this item

Does this phone need a Nano-SIM card to connect to a mobile network?

Yes, it uses dual Nano-SIM slots with dual stand-by, so at least one active Nano-SIM from your carrier is required for calls and data.

Will my existing Bluetooth 5.1 headphones pair without extra steps?

The handset supports Bluetooth 5.1, A2DP and LE, so any headphones using that version will connect through the standard Android pairing menu.

How can I confirm the 120 Hz AMOLED panel is running at its peak 1200 nits brightness?

Open Settings > Display, enable the 120 Hz refresh-rate option, then pull the brightness slider to maximum; the screen will reach 1200 nits in bright ambient light.
