Right-Angle XLR for Tight Racks

This 3 ft balanced microphone cable uses a 90° male-to-female XLR connector to fit behind shallow racks, on crowded stages or inside compact podiums. The right-angle moulding reduces cable strain at the jack and keeps the run neat in permanent installs. It suits live sound, broadcast and fixed-installation work where straight plugs would foul adjacent gear.

DMX Standard and 24 AWG Construction

The cable meets the DMX standard so it can carry lighting-control data as well as audio. Conductors are 24 AWG oxygen-free copper (16 × 0.12 mm) in a twisted pair with aluminium foil and a 64 × 0.1 mm braided shield, all inside a 6.0 mm flexible PVC jacket. Gold-over-nickel contacts on zinc-alloy shells resist corrosion in touring and outdoor use.

Replaces Straight XLR Leads in Confined Spaces

Use this cable instead of a straight XLR lead when rack depth, wall plates or dense patch bays make a 90° exit necessary. The internal strain relief and rugged moulding survive repeated mating cycles better than bare solder joints. The jump is worth it whenever a straight connector would be bent, damaged or block neighbouring ports.

Questions about this item

Is the 3-foot length enough to reach from a floor stand to a mixer on a nearby table?

At exactly three feet the cable spans roughly one metre, which is long enough for a mic on a short stand to a desk-top mixer but leaves no slack for routing around gear.

Will the 24 AWG conductors and braided shield keep a microphone signal clean over this distance?

The 24 AWG oxygen-free copper cores plus aluminium foil and 64-strand copper braid give low resistance and strong rejection of hum and RF interference for typical stage or studio runs.

Can the 90-degree male plug fit into a recessed XLR jack on a crowded patch panel?

The right-angle male connector protrudes only about 3.2 cm from the panel face, so it clears adjacent sockets and reduces strain on the jack.
