Purpose & Audience

This 14 inch HP laptop is built for students and office workers who need a light Windows 11 device for web browsing, document editing and video calls. The Intel Celeron N4120 processor with four cores and Intel UHD Graphics 600 handles basic multitasking and streaming. It is not suited for buyers who want more storage for large media libraries or who need higher graphics performance for creative workloads.

Installation & Pitfalls

Windows 11 in S Mode restricts app installation to the Microsoft Store until you switch out of S Mode, a one-way change that takes a few minutes. The 4GB DDR4 memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded, so keep the number of open browser tabs modest. The 64GB eMMC drive leaves limited space after system files, so plan to use cloud storage or the USB Type-C and Type-A ports for external drives.

Capacity & Headroom

The 1366 x 768 HD panel at 220 nits and 45% NTSC is adequate for indoor text work but struggles in bright rooms and with colour-critical tasks. 64GB eMMC provides fast boot times yet fills quickly with updates and offline files. 4GB RAM runs out when several applications and tabs are open simultaneously, causing noticeable slowdown.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the Intel Celeron N4120 is running at its 2.6 GHz turbo speed after setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, choose CPU and watch the live frequency while a workload runs; it should reach 2.6 GHz when thermal headroom allows.

What ports and accessories are included in the box versus what I must add?

The laptop ships with 2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A, 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C, HDMI, headphone/mic combo, AC smart pin, RJ-45 and a 1-year Office 365 subscription; add any USB-C hub, external drive or mouse you need.

Which memory and storage configuration suits a student using Windows 11 in S Mode?

The 4 GB DDR4 and 64 GB eMMC handle web apps and Office 365 well; if you plan heavier multitasking or local files, choose a model offering up to 16 GB RAM.
