Business laptop for everyday work

The HP 250 G9 is a 15.6 inch laptop built around a 12th generation Intel processor with 10 cores and 12 threads. It ships with Windows 11 Pro, 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. The integrated Intel UHD graphics drive the 1920 x 1080 display at 60Hz. This configuration suits office tasks, web browsing and video calls for professionals and students who need a reliable Windows machine.

Limits of the 60Hz panel and WiFi 5

The screen refreshes at 60Hz, so motion in fast‑paced games or high‑frame‑rate video will not appear as smooth as on higher‑refresh displays. Wireless connectivity uses WiFi 5 (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 5.1, which provide adequate throughput for typical office networks but do not reach the peak speeds or efficiency of newer WiFi standards. The integrated graphics share system memory, limiting performance in demanding 3D applications.

Ports, chassis and daily handling

The dark ash silver chassis weighs 3.84lb and measures 14 x 9.5 x 0.75 inches, making it portable enough for daily commutes. Connections include two USB 3.1 Gen2 Type‑A ports, one USB 3.1 Type‑C port, HDMI, an SD card reader, a headphone/microphone combo jack and RJ‑45 Ethernet. A 720p webcam and standard keyboard support video meetings and typing comfort, powered by a 45W adapter and a 3‑cell 41 WHr battery.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 8GB DDR4 or the 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD version?

This model comes with both 8GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD as standard; there is no alternative capacity to choose.

What does the 4.4 GHz turbo frequency deliver in everyday use?

The 12th Gen processor can boost up to 4.4 GHz across its 10 cores and 12 threads, giving responsive performance for office apps and multitasking.

What does WiFi 5 limit me to in real-world speeds?

The 802.11ac WiFi 5 connection tops out below gigabit wired speeds, so large file transfers are faster over the RJ-45 port.
